It’s the most wonderful time of the year…but also the most expensive! Between gifts, travel, and all those holiday parties, it’s easy to go overboard and end up in debt come January. But just because you’re on a budget doesn’t mean your home has to look like it. With a little creativity and some DIY spirit, you can have a festive home that will make your wallet happy. And if you’re looking for more ideas aside from our budget-friendly Christmas decorations, you’ll love our posts about the best Christmas decorations on a budget and the best modern Christmas decorations.

Here are the best budget-friendly Christmas decorations I’ve found:

If you have a small space to work with, a small Christmas tree is the way to go. You can find mini Christmas trees at most stores that sell Christmas decorations. Just make sure to get one that is pre-lit so you don’t have to worry about stringing lights.

If you’re tired of singing “Let it Go,” why not try something seasonal like “Let it Snow” instead? You can easily deck your halls with almost fifty different snowflakes. All you need to do is string them up with thread and hang them down your hallway with clear tape.

There’s something about candles that just make a space feel more comforting and inviting, don’t you think? I’m always down to test out new scents, too. Cinnamon is one of those smells that take me back to childhood Christmases instantly. With all those warm and fuzzy feelings, I wanted to create a chic Christmas centerpiece using it as the primary scent.

This year, as Christmas approached, I decided to explore my crafty side and see what holiday goodies I could make with a homemade Mod Podge. One of the fun little projects I tried were these homemade string Christmas trees that I’m sharing with you today (and yes, my homemade Mod Podge worked perfectly for this project!)

I used to rely on command hooks, but I never liked how they looked. So this year, instead of hanging paintings above my bar cart, I hung my stockings (you can find similar ones here) from nails on the wall.

You can use two rolls of ribbon that were each used for 10 ornaments, making a total of 20. Simply hold the shower curtain up and cut off desired lengths of ribbon- no measuring necessary! You can then tie one end to an ornament and the other end to the shower curtain hook. Sometimes it’s best when things are less planned out!
