If you’re anything like me, you have a little sweet tooth…
This list can be dangerous in the wrong hands lol! Be careful with these delicious homemade muffin recipes
Here are the ones I love:
Best Blueberry Muffins
Source: Once Upon A Chef
When do you usually find yourself baking blueberry muffins?
For me, it’s pretty much anytime… Rain or shine, morning or night, diet or no diet lol 😉
Blueberry muffins are fun to make with your kids, amazing to eat for breakfast, as a mid-afternoon snack, or even as a treat at night time. But do you want to know what my absolute favorite thing to do is with these delicious blueberry treats?
Packing them in my kid’s lunch boxes. Yep… My kids and I have a Sunday afternoon tradition where we make blueberry muffins together, and that way I can use them for lunches throughout the week
They’re better than little Debbies, healthier, and packed with blueberry flavor. I mean let’s be honest, blueberry muffins just hit differently. Don’t you agree?
I am very picky, particular, and conscious about eating muffins myself because a lot of times I’d rather have a donut or different type of dessert. But when it comes to THESE blueberry muffins, I’m weak, and I’m ready for them anytime
These best ever blueberry muffins get their name for a reason. They are bursting with fresh blueberries and have a tender crumb & sparkling sugar crust
It’s so nice that they take less than an hour to make, only have 10 household ingredients, and come in at less than 260 calories per muffin. You won’t want to have just one, and with this recipe, you don’t have to!
Plus, they are freezer or fridge friendly. I have no idea how you would ever have any left over to freeze, but if you want to they will be fresh as ever when you pop them out of the freezer, I’ve done it for testing purposes
Absolutely muffin compares to these!

Is there anything better than a trip to the cider mill in the fall?
You know, dressing your little ones up in plaid, taking pictures by the apple tree’s or Michigan signs, fresh bakery treats, yummy apple cider, brisk hay rides, and picking pumpkins?
During the months of June to October, I can honestly say if you’re not a Michigander, well then I feel sorry for you. The other months… Definitely debatable
My favorite time to go to the cider mill is mid-September. It’s a little early sure, but the leaves have still changed from green to reds oranges and yellows, the temperatures are warmer and to be honest, the whole month of October is a sh** show of people and waiting in line at the cider mills here in Grand Rapids
The best part about a cider mill?
CINNAMON SUGAR DONUTS, DUH
I truly never thought anything would compare to them, I mean how can anything? And then I found these, and I donut know what I would do without this recipe in my life
Donut muffins are a super soft, homemade muffins that taste just like your classic cider mill donut rolled in cinnamon and sugar
What makes them so amazing is that they are in the shape of a decadent and buttery muffin. Yum. ultimate yum
I can make these all year round for my kids, and we have the taste of fall right in our sugary messy fingers whenever we want. These are a great Sunday breakfast or tailgating dessert
Oh sugar, I think I just gave one of the best recipes yet!

I think I’ve given up on buying chocolate chip cookies, and I never grab them at events anymore unless it clearly states “THESE ARE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES”
Oatmeal cookies that look like chocolate chip cookies are the start of a lifetime of trust issues, and it’s better not to take the leap anymore
I don’t like it when oatmeal cookies trick or play me and give me the idea they are chocolate chip cookies. It reminds me of being in high school and running by my 10th grade boyfriends house and seeing one of my good girlfriends cars parked in his driveway when he said he was at lacrosse practice. The deception!! 😆
I thought I was over that but hey, maybe not
Anyways, I’ll be at a bakery, and I’ll choose what I’m thinking is a decadent and delicious chocolate chip cookie and SURPRISE! It’s an oatmeal cookie. And when that happens, I’m not happy
Do you want to know what doesn’t fool you? Who you can always trust? Chocolate chip muffins
They will save you from a lifetime of hurt and deception. This is important to me, and I’ve tested out a lot of recipes…
I can honestly say this is The BEST chocolate chip muffin recipe. They are soft, moist, fluffy, loaded with chocolate chips, and have a perfect crispy sky-high muffin top!
With some chocolate chip muffins, there aren’t enough chocolate chips, and I find myself only enjoying the top of the muffin and regretting my decision once I get into the middle. Not these
OOey gooey chocolate chip greatness is throughout the entire muffin, not just the part you can see. Just another example of how these chocolate chip muffins will be truthful with you
These chocolate chip muffins are my boyfriend, and although it’s getting serious, I’m willing to share with you!
Lemon Poppy Seed

When life gives you lemons, sometimes you just need some lemon aid. And I don’t mean the refreshing drink
Baked lemon flavors always brighten up a dreary day had, and I love lemon desserts in general. I think there’s something to be said about shaking it up with some lemon flavors, especially during the spring and summer months
Lemon is just… It’s clean, it’s refreshing, and as long as the flavor isn’t overpowering (which is crucial for lemon desserts) it makes for a sweet and decadent treat
These are incredibly delicious, and absolutely perfect for a spring breakfast, mother’s day dessert, or sunshiney summer morning. This soft and decadent muffin base is just exploding with lemon flavor
All thanks to the recipe itself which includes lemon zest, lemon extract, and lemon juice. But it doesn’t stop there
Each fluffy center is stuffed with a silky smooth pocket of lemon curd, and the topping is a sweet drizzle of lemon glaze. I do need to be honest though. At first, I was nervous about making these
Like I said before as much as I do love lemon desserts when the flavor is overpowering it can be too much to handle for me
My husband is a lover of poppy seed, and he was the one to tell me that he believed the recipe would be balanced out by the poppy seed flavors. He was (hate to say it ever) right
The poppy does balance out the recipe perfectly and it makes for the perfect zesty seedy muffin with just the right amount of both flavors
If you’re a lover lemon zest, and poppy, These muffins will be your main squeeze!

Have you heard of matcha green tea powder?
Well if you haven’t, don’t worry. I just arrived late to this party too, but I’m glad I came!
Matcha is premium green tea powder from Japan used for drinking as tea or as an ingredient in recipes. While other green teas are grown throughout the world, matcha is unique to Japan
It is the heart of the Japanese way of tea and has been celebrated for centuries. So then, why?
Well, after doing some research I found that Matcha green tea has an immense amount of benefits, and I honestly went from asking “what does it do” to “what doesn’t it do”
Matcha contains caffeine (more than regular green tea) and L-theanine, which can improve several aspects of brain function. It also protects the liver and the heart, and aids in weight loss. I’ve tried a couple of different kinds of powders, and the kind I find the sweetest and best tasting is “Jade Leaf Matcha Green Tea Powder”, and you can purchase it for cheap right on Amazon
Matcha Powder: Jade Leaf Matcha Green Tea Powder on Amazon
What I love most about these fluffy matcha lemon muffins, is that pairing the green tea with the lemon flavor pairing the matcha green tea with lemon was the perfect idea. The taste was subtle and not too sweet, but still yummy and sweet enough to feel like a desert because of the lemon
And the calorie count? Less than 150 per muffin
I have experimented with these muffins quite a bit, and they are a staple in the morning for me now. I prepare them a week ahead of time, and usually, add blueberries or chocolate chips to them. But don’t worry, they are good enough without doing that
I grab a muffin, make a small smoothie and I’m off to work feeling refreshed and like I just had dessert for breakfast. These keep me on track and energized in the morning
If you’re committed to staying on track but still want a healthy treat then I promise, you have matcha your match with these!
Pumpkin Carrot Apple Muffins
Source: Celebrating Sweets
Ahh fall is in the air… and so is my obsession for baking. I don’t know what it is, but I am in my prime for experimenting in the fall
Baking with pumpkin and apple flavors, trying out new possible staples, and creating recipes sums up the months of September-November for this mommy
If you’ve been reading my posts for a while you know I’m a Michigander and lover of all fall. Yes, it gets out of control, and no, I don’t plan on stopping
I’ve always been a bit of a health fanatic, but I’ll admit that I fell off the wagon a little bit after my second pregnancy. Easing up turned out to be a GREAT thing for my baking though, because I’m healthy enough that I’ll try and substitute when I can, but I no longer sacrifice flavors for calories
The utter infatuation I have with these muffins is indescribable, but you won’t blame me if you have the chance to make them because it’s impossible not to be
Pinterest went ahead and changed my life forever when it introduced me to creating much more than just pumpkin pie with Pumpkin Puree. It adds moisture, flavor, and nutrients to plenty of other fall desserts like THESE muffins
Plus, it’s loaded with fiber. In these healthy pumpkin carrot apple muffins, it’s one of the main ingredients that create these moist and decadent muffins
Another recipe changing addition to this recipe? Applesauce
Applesauce in muffin recipes keep them moist and makes it possible to reduce oil, aka fat. To top these muffins off the addition of grated carrots blend right in but also give the muffins a similar taste of carrot cake, but sweeter
These muffins come in at just 187 calories and are loaded with health benefits and nutrients. They are SO yummy, sweet, and decadent
Fall desserts are in the air, but so is your summer body this year!

I have such an inquisitive 7 year old. He questions EVERYTHING, and always wants to know why things are the way they are, how they got to be that way, who invented things, etc…
Having kids has taught me so much about myself, and my husband. It has made me thankful for the parents I had, and the way I grew up, my marriage, and has made me feel blessed all around
Of course, I have the days where I’m stressed, overwhelmed, and feeling sorry for myself, but that’s to be expected in mommyhood. Because of my son, I now look at things differently and question them too
For example… The last time I found myself making a coffee cake it dawned on me. Why are they calling this coffee cake?
There’s no coffee in here! It turns out Coffee cake is just intended to be eaten with coffee. Coffee cakes are often single layered, flavored with either fruit or cinnamon have a more cake-like texture, or yeast, which results in a more bread-like texture
This explanation definitely makes sense with the recipe. If you like New York-style coffee cake with its thick layer of crumbs, then you’re going to adore these coffee cake muffins
They are essentially mini coffee cakes, except these sweet muffins are all about their amazing, decadent Cinnamon Crumb Topping
And the sweet homemade vanilla glaze drizzled on top?
I’m not sure you can top a morning meal like this one. This will change the way you drink your coffee in the morning and will start your day off sweet
Question everything and always ask why or how, but don’t waste your time wondering about the amazingness of these muffins!
Strawberry Crumb Cake
Source: A Latte Food
Now that we are familiar with the fact that “coffee cake” is simply just a flavor that is meant to be paired with coffee, then what in the world is “crumb cake” and is there any difference between the two?
My curious son always has to know these things, and I’m finally admitting to myself that I do too
In the battle of the bakery, the difference between the two comes down to the amount of crumb topping. Serious stuff, right?
Both a crumb cake and a coffee cake have a moist cake bottom and a streusel topping. The main difference between the two is that the majority of the crumb cake is the crumb topping, whereas the coffee cake is more cake with a much smaller amount of topping
The large amount of topping gives the crumb cake a delicious sweet flavor with a crunchy texture
Once I figured this out, I realized that… I think I might like crumb cake a little bit better? I love crunchy texture, and I love sweet
Coffee cake is perfect in the morning with my cup of Joe, much better than most crumb cakes actually. But this…. THIS strawberry crumb cake muffin recipe is everything. Anytime. With any cup of anything
In this recipe, muffin meets strawberry with a sweet creamy vanilla glaze and a crunchy texture that makes it a valid crunchy crumb cake
Plus, every muffin is filled with fresh strawberries. The sweet glaze paired with the strawberry and crumb cake muffin texture?
Unlike anything you’ve ever had before. This is perfect in the morning, mid-afternoon, and even sweet enough to be a bedtime treat
I highly recommend making these ASAP, my life was crumb-y before them!

Alright, guys level with me here. Chocolate comes from cocoa… which is a tree. So that makes chocolate a plant, which makes chocolate a salad
So I think it’s safe to say that a balanced diet is chocolate in both hands? Or double chocolate? 😜
Sometimes you just need chocolate on chocolate. Trust me, I get it. In times where just chocolate chip muffins aren’t enough… I give you these better than bakery double chocolate muffins
These delicious chocolate muffins are made entirely from scratch, but they are SIMPLE, which is one of the best things about this recipe
If you’ve been reading my posts for a while now then you know this busy mom loves homemade recipes that don’t call for 27 ingredients with 19 different steps, but I do take pride in not using a box for deserts
The right cocoa powder is the trick to amazing homemade muffins, and in following the steps of the recipe you’ll have the perfect texture every time. I found a really good organic cacao powder packed with healthy benefits that didn’t break my bank
Cacao Powder: Organic Cocoa Powder by Anthony’s on Amazon
The first time I made these I accidentally had to experiment with peanut butter chocolate chips because I was out of regular chocolate chips and honestly they turn out amazing both ways!
There’s nothing wrong with a little bit of peanut butter with your extra chocolatey dessert. These muffins are indulgent, decadent, and rich. If double chocolate is wrong I don’t ever want to be right
From now on you can find me over here… on the dark side 🍫

“Today me will live in the moment. Unless it’s unpleasant, in which me will eat a cookie” – Cookie Monster
Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always had a love for cookie monster, and as I’ve grown older the love has only grown. I mean, this guy is practically my spirit animal
He can always find a reason to eat a cookie, doesn’t share, he’s funny, and he’s just freaking wise. I love that my kids love sesame street
I was worried that it would no longer live up to the hype after bubble guppies and paw patrol took over, but my little millennials still find a way to appreciate some of the classics. Do your kids watch sesame street?
These monster cookie muffins are inspired by our favorite blue little friend. They are loaded with M&M’s, sweet, savory, and fun to look at and make. The part I love best about this recipe?
Oatmeal is substituted for some flour, which makes them a ton healthier and the mixture of the oatmeal, peanut butter, and M&M’s is one you won’t want to pass up
I love making these for my kids for breakfast instead of the regular oatmeal and toast because it brightens their day right up. Omm nom nom

I found the perfect man, and he’s been right in front of me all along. He’s quiet, he’s sweet, and if he annoys me then I can just go right ahead and bite his head off and make another one
Can you guess who he is??
He is the gingerbread man! Okay, you guys but seriously when the warm and cozy holiday season comes around the flavor of sweet and spicy gingerbread is just something we all have the urge to be eating
These gingerbread muffins are perfect for your holiday dessert platter this year!
Plus, they have a sweet and creamy vanilla bean glaze frosting that is to die for. The flavors combined are so tasty and full of holiday flavor. These muffins are that traditional dark brown color from a rich dose of molasses, and they are ridiculously light and airy
I’ve tried out a lot of different gingerbread flavors because I tend to make them only a couple times a year, and these are my favorite to date
I love making these for breakfast on Christmas Eve for my family, it starts our Christmas celebrations off on the right foot
If you’re looking for the gingerbread flavor then run run as fast as you can… to the kitchen so you can bake these!

My husband loves Nutella, and I mean loves it
I see him spreading Nutella on his toast almost as often as I catch him with a spoon in the jar. It’s literally a daily occurrence. It took me 3 years of living with him to even try it for the first time…
I’m sure you’re probably thinking I’m a crazy person for not trying it sooner, but I have a valid explanation 😜
If you’ve been following my posts for a while then you know about the loss of control I have with peanut butter, especially peanut butter smoothies
I saw what Nutella did to my husband, and I didn’t want yet another spread taking control of my mind body and soul like that
Well, about 6 years ago my husband and I were able to have a wine night at our house, and my parents watched the kids. 5 glasses of wine in and of course I got the munchies. I dove right into the Nutella. I can Nutella you how thankful I am because it is definitely a game changer in the morning, and for recipes just like this!
These Nutella swirl muffins are a simple, yet decadent moist muffin with a sour cream base to start that’s sweet yet creamy. Each muffin is then swirled to perfection with Nutella, making you feel like you’re eating a moist cupcake or a piece of cake
The best part about this?
10 ingredients that are simple items, no messy preparation, 20 minutes needed to prepare, voila. Swirly, Nutella-ey, creamy, sweet, muffins
Put down the spoon and pick up the muffin tins, these will be a crowd favorite for sure!
Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal

I haven’t moved on from the oatmeal craze, sue me
Oatmeal is cheap, versatile, and just freaking tastes good, especially in the Autumn months here in Michigan. And the health benefits? Immense!
Oats are rich in carbs and fiber, but also higher in protein than almost any other grain. They are very high in many vitamins and minerals and aid in weight loss by helping you to feel full. It’s no wonder that the whole “overnight oat” craze took off and I was all about it
My kids were never the biggest fans of oatmeal milk, but I think I solved that issue
The best oatmeal? The maple and brown sugar. My husband and I can get down with it, our kids love it, it gives me the fall taste I love, and it’s amazing in recipes just like this one
I’ll be the first to say it… if I’m making muffins they better be good. I’ll sacrifice a healthy tasting muffin for a good tasting one any day because the whole point of a muffin is to treat yourself, right?
Well TIME OAT
When I find a recipe like this… that IS healthy, tastes good, and healthy enough to customize with blueberries, chocolate chips, etc, I go with it
These maple brown sugar oatmeal muffins are a healthy, hearty, delicious portable breakfast recipe that you’ll want to get your hands on ASAP. They have that sweet brown sugar taste which pairs perfectly with the maple brown sugar oatmeal, and the maple syrup and cinnamon ties it all together to perfection
You’ll want to cozy up to these muffins this fall!

I love bananas in baking for so many different reasons. They tend to add the perfect sweet flavor to almost any dessert, and the moist texture keeps it fresh and decadent
Plus, it’s used often as healthy substitute which can take a calorie count waaaay down for recipes like cakes, muffins, pancakes, etc…
I won’t bore you with all the health benefits of bananas because I’m pretty sure we learned about them in 3rd grade, but you get the message. If you like the flavor, you should use them when you can
These are hands down the best banana muffins I have ever had, and I don’t just say that. These are not only packed with that sweet banana flavor but have a brown sugar streusel topping that is absolutely to die for
The streusel topping is so good I use it in a lot of other recipes, but it’s my favorite in this one. This is easy to make, the flavor is a-peel-ing, and you can easily freeze them
I tested it out, and they are just as good after being stored. These muffins are good hot or cold, any time of the day, and in any season
I’m bananas over these muffins! 🍌
Starbucks Copycat Blueberry Muffins
Source: Crazy For Crust
Sometimes when I pick my little Casey up from her (pre) preschool class she falls asleep on the way home
I love to take that time and drive around. I usually will head out to the dirt roads about 15 minutes away from my house, listen to music, and lately, I listen to podcasts. Do you guys have a favorite podcast?
I was listening to one just the other day about Starbucks; their business tactics, strategies to keep customers and get new ones, and their background story overall
One of the business tactics mentioned that really stuck out to me was their strategy to get people to order food. Of course, you’re coming to Starbucks for coffee… So while you’re already there why not?
They train their customer service representatives and baristas to always ask “and would you like to add a blueberry muffin or breakfast sandwich with that coffee?” and then bam, all of a sudden you’re hungry
At least one time, if not more, they will get to you to say yes. And there you have it. Immediate increase in revenue just for asking the question
They sold me on the blueberry muffin a couple of months ago, and for several months after that, they had me paying the big Starbucks bucks for this muffin twice a week
If you haven’t had a Starbucks muffin… well let me explain them to you
They are hands down one of the best bakery muffins I have ever had. It’s a pretty large moist and sweet fun exploding with blueberries and topped with some sort of crunchy and sweet vanilla-ey streusel
This copycat recipe is everything if you’re trying to match this muffin. I can’t even taste a difference, and I consider myself quite the Starbucks blueberry muffin connoisseur at this point
I have never made muffins with sour cream or white vinegar, but it all melds wonderfully and I think that’s the secret to the texture and creamy sweetness of the Starbucks muffs
Save your dollars, and you’re welcome
