My kitchen has officially hit “peak cozy.” You know that smell, right? It’s that glorious, warm mix of cinnamon, apples baking, and maybe a hint of pine from the front porch. The minute that aroma fills the house, I just know it’s time to pull out the mixing bowls and start planning for the best part of the big meal: the dessert table! While the turkey tends to get all the headlines, I’ve always believed the true star of the show is the sweet spread. But let’s be honest, after a huge meal, sometimes a giant slice of rich pie can feel like a bit… much. This year, I’m leaning hard into the most fun, versatile, and crowd-pleasing option out there, Thanksgiving Cupcakes!

They are the perfect single-serving sweet, which means you can offer a ton of different flavors (so everyone is happy!), and there’s no messy slicing involved. It’s the best way to get all those classic fall flavors—just as easy as my go-to easy pumpkin dessert recipes—but perfectly portioned for a party. So, I grabbed my recipe box and gathered 30 of my coziest ideas for you!

Classic Pumpkin Spice

This is the little black dress of Thanksgiving! It’s that perfectly moist, spice-flecked pumpkin cupcake with a super tangy, rich cream cheese frosting. My secret? A tiny splash of maple extract in the frosting! I love dusting it with cinnamon sugar right before serving so it sparkles.

Salted Caramel Pumpkin

Take that classic pumpkin cupcake and give it a glow-up. I like to poke a few small holes in the top of the cupcake, drizzle with caramel so it soaks in, then frost it. Finish with another drizzle and a tiny sprinkle of flaky sea salt. It cuts the sweetness perfectly.

Pumpkin Chai Latte

This one feels so sophisticated! Infuse your batter with real chai tea spices (cardamom, ginger, clove). For the frosting, I love a fluffy, stabilized whipped cream (so it holds its shape) dusted with cinnamon. It tastes just like your favorite fall coffee shop drink.

Gingersnap-Crust Pumpkin

Why let pies have all the fun with crusts? Before you add your pumpkin batter, press a simple crust made of crushed gingersnap cookies and melted butter into the bottom of each liner. It adds a surprising, spicy crunch that holds up beautifully to the moist cupcake. A marshmallow frosting is the coziest add on in this recipe.

Maple Bacon Pumpkin

Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it! The smoky, salty crunch of real candied bacon (just bake bacon bits with brown sugar and a pinch of cayenne) is an absolute showstopper. Sprinkle it over a rich maple buttercream. The sweet-and-salty combo is everything.

Apple Pie Stuffed Cupcakes

This is my ultimate party trick. Use a simple spice cupcake and an apple corer to make a perfect little hole. Fill it with canned apple pie filling—easy!—then top with a cinnamon buttercream. For the “crust,” I smash up a shortbread cookie or bake a few strips of pie dough with cinnamon sugar.

Caramel Apple Cupcakes

This one is all about the garnish. Use an apple-cinnamon cupcake and a fluffy caramel frosting. Top with a drizzle of caramel and a tiny (and I mean tiny) dice of a crisp green apple, tossed in lemon juice so it doesn’t brown. The fresh, tart bite is a perfect contrast.

Apple Cider Cupcakes

These are heavenly and taste exactly like those fresh-from-the-orchard donuts. The secret is to use boiled-down apple cider in the batter for a super-concentrated flavor. As soon as they’re out of the oven, brush them with melted butter and roll them in cinnamon sugar. No frosting needed!

Spiced Apple with Brown Butter Cream Cheese Frosting

If you’ve never made brown butter frosting, this is your sign. It has such a rich, nutty, toffee-like flavor. Just brown your butter on the stove until it’s amber and fragrant, let it cool, then use it in your favorite buttercream recipe. It’s absolutely divine on a soft, apple-studded cupcake.

A tart and sweet dream. Fold fresh (or frozen) cranberries and apple cider into your batter. Before baking, top each one with a generous spoonful of cinnamon sugar mixture. They’re part-muffin, part-cupcake, and 100% cozy.

Pecan Pie Cupcakes

Oh, these are dangerously good. You make a simple brown sugar cupcake batter, fill the liners, and then pour a mini-batch of gooey pecan pie filling right on top of the batter before baking. It sinks and creates this magical, self-filled cupcake. They are so rich, you just need a dollop of whipped cream.

Sweet Potato Pie Cupcakes

A tender sweet potato cupcake with all those familiar spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger). The only way to top this, in my opinion, is with a toasted marshmallow frosting. Use a kitchen torch to get that perfect, bubbly, campfire-toasted finish.

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan

A slightly more “adult” version of the pecan pie cupcake. Add a good splash of bourbon to your pecan filling (it bakes off, leaving just the flavor) and fold mini chocolate chips into the batter. This is the one I serve with the after-dinner coffee.

Mini Cherry Pie Cupcakes

Need a last-minute idea? This is a great no-bake option. Use a vanilla wafer or mini Nilla pie crust as the base. Top with a simple no-bake cheesecake filling (just cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla) and finish with a spoonful of cherry pie filling.

Coconut Cream Pie Cupcakes

A light-as-air coconut cupcake (use coconut milk in the batter!). Core the center and fill it with a dollop of vanilla pudding or pastry cream. Top with a cloud of whipped cream frosting and lots of toasted coconut flakes for crunch.

Little Turkey Cupcakes

This is the one the kids will run for! Frost any cupcake with chocolate frosting. The “body” is a chocolate-covered cookie. These will go perfectly with thanksgiving pies! For these easy to make cupcakes, all you need is the creative placement of chocolate and candy corn.

Pilgrim Hat Cupcakes

So simple and so smart! Frost a vanilla cupcake, then turn a peanut butter cup upside down on top. Use a little yellow-tinted frosting in a piping bag to pipe a “buckle” on the front. Done!

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes

Celebrate fall with Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes. These are festive chocolate cupcakes decorated with chocolate trees,

Fall Leaves Cupcakes

These adorable Autumn Leaves Cupcakes are absolutely stunning! They perfectly capture the season with a beautiful, pretty swirl of yellow, orange, and red frosting, inspired by the changing leaves. Topped with delicate chocolate leaves, this colorful design just says “FALL!” and is a stunning treat to serve at any autumn party.

Fall “Tree” Cupcakes

This one tells a little story. Celebrate autumn’s colors with these Fall Tree Cupcakes. They’re incredibly easy to make: simply pipe candy trees onto parchment paper, bake a batch of your favorite cupcakes, and then top them with your candy creations and some nonpareil sprinkles.

Sunflower Cupcakes

This looks so impressive but is a breeze. Pipe some happy sunshine right onto your cupcakes! You can create these sunflower cupcakes using any flavor base you like. Piping the sunflower design is so much easier than you’d expect, all it takes are the right tools and a little practice.

Maple Walnut Cupcakes

This is such an elegant, comforting flavor. A buttery cupcake flavored with real maple syrup (not pancake syrup!) and studded with toasted walnuts. The maple cream cheese frosting is just divine. I top it with one perfect, toasted walnut half.

Brown Sugar Cinnamon

Tastes just like a warm snickerdoodle! The base is a rich brown sugar cupcake. My trick is to add a swirl of cinnamon sugar right in the batter. A fluffy cinnamon buttercream on top makes it the perfect pairing for a cup of tea.

S’mores Cupcakes

Who says s’mores are just for summer? Use a graham cracker crust (just like the pumpkin one!), a rich chocolate cupcake, and a sticky, fluffy marshmallow frosting. A kitchen torch gives it that authentic “campfire” look, but a sprinkle of graham cracker crumbs works too!

Hot Chocolate & Marshmallow

This is a kid-favorite that adults love too. It’s a deep chocolate cupcake (I use a little coffee in the batter to make it richer) with a light-as-air marshmallow frosting. Garnish with a sprinkle of hot cocoa mix and some of those tiny, crunchy dehydrated marshmallows.

Butterscotch Bliss

This flavor feels so nostalgic and warm. It’s a moist brown sugar cupcake, but the star is the old-fashioned, homemade butterscotch frosting. It’s rich, deep, and not-too-sweet. I love sprinkling these with crunchy toffee bits.

Cranberry Orange Cupcake

The ultimate holiday combo. This is a bright, zesty orange cupcake (use the zest and the juice!) with tart fresh or frozen cranberries folded in. A simple orange glaze is all it needs, but a sugared cranberry on top makes it look so festive.

Pomegranate Cupcake

This is my “elegant” cupcake. A delicate, not-too-sweet upcake with a simple vanilla bean frosting. Finish with a beautiful, jewelry-like sprinkle of fresh pomegranate seeds. The “pop” of tart juice is an amazing surprise.

Spiced Pear Cupcakes

This one feels so warm and unique, perfect for an “adult” table. A soft cupcake with finely diced fresh pear and a hint of warm, floral cardamom. It’s absolutely lovely with a brown butter frosting or a simple vanilla glaze.

Coffee and Walnut Cupcakes

Enjoy the classic Coffee and Walnut cake, in a perfect bite-sized form. These cupcakes, topped with the most creamy coffee buttercream, are the ultimate afternoon pick-me-up. Like your favorite latte in a sweet treat, these easy cupcakes have it all. You get a rich coffee flavor, a fluffy, moist cake filled with walnuts, and the most luscious, creamy coffee frosting.
